Summer Lovin'

I decided to make a little mini series of posts showing outfit ideas for the summer. Your outfit obviously changes depending on whether you are a student on summer vacation or a hard working employee trying to get through the summer without melting, so I am going to try to create a few outfits to fit the need of every women out there.

Im starting out with what I know best, being a Cali native, cute but very casual outfits.

This outfit with keep you cool but still looking up to date. The white crop top will is very basic and a must in any Cali girls wardrobe. Pairing it with distressed high-waisted denim short keeps everything appropriate and make sure your not showing too much skin. I love the mint converse with this outfit because I feel it brings out the pastel colors in the top so well. The gold ring is a midi-ring which are so in and trendy at the moment. I personally LOVE them! Keeping with the gold, these adorable Ray- bans with there gold detailing, will keep you looking fashionable and mysterious while also protecting you from the sun.

Outfit number two, very similar to the first. Again very simple, maybe something you could wear to a theme park or just hanging out with your friends.

Outfit number three is still super casual and something that I would wear for a day of shopping or maybe a lunch date with your best friend. The cuffed jeans keeps you a bit more covered up. Yet still showing enough skin so that you're not dying of heat stroke!

Spring Trend Alert: Black and White
Marc Jacobs

Oscar De La Renta
Oscar De La Renta

So I'm sure you've all seen this black and white trend reoccurring throughout. From high fashion designers like Oscar De La Renta and Marc Jacobs to more commercial stores like H&M and Forever 21. Most years, this time around brands/ designers tend to lean more towards the brighter colors like last springs neons. This spring the color scheme is going in the complete opposite direction. Designers keeping things more neutral is almost a way for them to branch out and be daring without getting totally crazy. Personally this is a trend I really love because recently I've been really into the neutrals. It is something that is super simple and everyone, no matter how old, can incorporate into their personal style. Whether you like to dress more edgy and daring or cute and preppy. This trend truly shows how beautiful simplicity can be.

I really like to pair a black and white look with some kind of pop of color, whether that be a bold lip or nail color. Below are some ideas I came up with as well as some I found online, that can take this trend from runway to everyday. Enjoy!

Spring Outfit Idea #3

This is another cute outfit you might wear on a day out with the girls, shopping or going to lunch. The sea foam green jeans give the outfit a pop of color while the cream peplum top and gold accessories keep the look overall very classy and put together. This is something personally I would wear on a casual day when I still want to look cute. What do you think about this outfit? Would you wear it? What would you change about it? Military Trend Transitioning to Spring?

We've all seen the military trend spread like wildfire this past year, 2012 and in my prediction will keep on going through the spring. Especially with all of the new camo crop tops and skirts, and deep olive  that have been coming out in stores like Forever 21 and Brandy Melville. Its kind of the "Bad Girl" look if you will but in a good way. I adore all of these deep olive tanks and neutral colored combat boots. It gives a nice change from the usual spring pastels and neons and is also keeps your look very laid back and sort of effortless, a very California vibe. As shown even some celebrities are into it like Kim Kardashian (pictured above), Vanessa Hudgens (pictured above), but most of all this trend reminds me so much of the Jenner sisters, Kendall and Kylie, with their super chill California girl effortless style! We will just have to wait and see if this trend really does pull through.

Spring Outfit Idea #2
This one's pretty casual. Something you'd wear to class or maybe just running errands. Shorts are a must have for the spring and summer time. These studded ones are super cute and on trend at the moment. The band T-shirt, converse sneakers, and plaid shirt overall give it a very chill California vibe. Perfect for spring break.

Spring Outfit Idea #1
I thought I would post some outfit ideas for the spring...

Floral is always in and I thought the floral top would add a bit of something else to this otherwise pretty neutral outfit. And the baby pink blazer and heels makes the outfit feel a bit more dressy. To dress it down though you could switch out the heels for some cute nude flats or maybe some brown sandals. And also change the blazer for a cute cardi!
